Last Day at Novell

With no one there to see me off.

With all the layoffs that have happened recently, and with this weekend being Memorial Day weekend, none of the friends I made over the past couple years at Novell were at work today. (Most were laid off.)

So my last day was totally without fanfare. Which really, I think, was best.

Especially because even though I'm (very) excited to be done, I still had to fight off a few tears as I walked across the parking lot to my car. (I blame pregnancy hormones.)

And, as silly as this sounds, I'm really going to miss my office supplies. (Not like I'll think about them everyday, but I'm kind of an office supplies junkie, and these particular supplies were ones I used every workday I was in the office for two years.)

But on the other hand, it hasn't all hit me yet. Like, when Tuesday rolls around next week . . . I don't have any commitments. No deadlines. No conference calls. No emails to be answered. No projects to create in our webtool. No questions to answer. No worrying about what changes were happening next.

I'm free.

And ready for a vacation.

Congratulations.
Enjoy this brief time for YOU. You won't have this kind of time ever again. (Well, it will be a long time before you have time alone again). The best is yet to come! I am so excited for you and all of your wonderful opportunities and blessings!
