Gratitude-palooza

So, I've missed a couple of days. Clearly.

I'll start with Wednesday: I am grateful for free food!!

I was nominated for the Wells And Myrle Cloward Exemplary Dining Services Student Award.
While I didn't win the award, I was one of maybe ten students nominated out of 1500. Which I think is pretty cool. So, those of us who were nominated were invited to a luncheon On Wednesday. And because I could, I brought Tyler with me! Together we enjoyed a fully catered, DELICIOUS meal.
It was the best. I loved being on the other side of catering.

But about halfway through the luncheon, I started to have terrible cramps. I felt like my insides were being ripped out. It was all I could do to remain pleasant. Tyler could tell something was wrong, and was trying to figure it out. But how could I tell him what was wrong without the whole room hearing? I pointed to my stomach and hoped that would suffice. But, Tyler was still confused... so I leaned over and whispered, "I'm a girl." Then he caught on.

After the luncheon, Tyler went and got his car, then came back to campus to pick me up and take me home. This was so nice of Tyler. I really could have walked if I had decided to... but at the time I was convinced that my death was coming early. (Therefore, I am also very grateful for Tyler!)

So, I went home, took some meds, warmed up a hot sock, and lay down to die.

But I didn't. Eventually I felt better. And even got some homework done. It was great!

Thursday: I am grateful for good teachers!

I have a huge paper due next week, and I needed some help. So I went and met with my professor for some help. He gave me some good direction. And I really appreciated his taking the time to see me.
(Now if can just find the time to write my paper!)

And today:

The day still very young, but I am grateful for Raquel. Raquel is a counselor here at BYU. I go see her once every couple of weeks to talk about things that have bothered me for a while. I initially started going so that I could make sure that I was okay. Mom and Marilyn both encouraged me to go to counseling so that I could make sure that I was dealing with things healthily. They both go to counseling to work through things, so I decided to do so, too.

And Raquel is great. I'm learning about myself, and at the same am able to de-stress a little. As she learns about me, I learn about me! It's a lot of fun, and I'm grateful for people like her, who are helping me lift my burdensome and busy load this semester.

That is quite the honor being nominated for that award!
I guess it's obvious Tyler has been raised with only brothers. :) He has always been a gentlemen though. Even to me :)
