I am really bummed about today. I wanted to vote so much!! But I failed to get my absentee ballot taken care of in time. I missed the deadline by three hours!! (In my defense, they didn't have a specific time listed. I got my application faxed in by the right date, but not the right hour.)
I really wanted to vote so that when my kids are studying for their history tests, I can say, "Oh, the McCain/Obama race? That was my first presidential election to vote in."
And they'd say, "Wow, Mom!" and think I was the coolest thing since sliced bread.
But, I am grateful to be an American, despite my voting failure.

Well, it is still the first race you could have voted in, you tried, do your kids really need to know the rest of the story? ha, ha.
Nathan was able to vote. Really cool.
