The haps, yo

Let's see... what is new in zoobie-land?

Um.... I gave a talk today in church. It went really well. I felt really good about it. My roommate, Rebecca, gave me the best compliments ever. She came up to me after and said, "You've gotten your patriarchal blessing, right? If God didn't tell you to go on a mission, he meant to. And secondly, you know how they have youth motivational speakers like John Bytheway and Sheri Dew? You should set some time aside when you are older, because people are going to be calling you all the time."
It made me feel so good about myself.
I tried a new method. Since I was speaking from the conference ensign, I just wrote notes in the ensign, and spoke about the things that stood out to me. I was so much more comfortable. Since I didn't have an outline or a list, I didn't feel bound to the list, and so, if I deviated, I didn't worry.
It was really a good experience.

I have been talking to Tyler, too. He and I have talked a lot about the things that we did wrong in our relationship, and how we would fix them. We have decided to keep dating other people for now. I really want to date him again, but right now isn't the time. I like him soooooo much.

Um... we burned a little dog made of rice today. We, (Michelle, Becca, and I) hair and bug sprayed it, then watched it burn. It was sooooooo cool.

Oh! We are getting to know our home teachers, too. Steve and Jesse. They are really funny. They were mission companions for a while in Chile, and they get along so well. They play off of each other really well.

OH! and I have gotten some really good songs off of iTunes, thanks to a gift card from my sister. Everytime I use it, I get this really giddy, happy, pleased-with-myself feeling. I love music. It is my all time favorite.

Oh!!! And! Last week for FHE, my group played Bigger or Better. The object of the game is to trade one item for something bigger or better, than go trade what you got for something else, over and over until you are satisfied or run out of time. We had three groups go a-trading. We each began with a paperclip...

My group, (me, and two boys) ended up with an entertainment center. Awesome, right?
Michelle and Rebecca (and their other teammate) got a lava lamp.
The boy group (just two boys), got weight gainer. (Obviously they lost.)

But we got to keep the entertainment center and the lava lamp.

Rebecca redecorated our living room to accomodate the new accessories. It looks awesome. I'm pretty happy about it.

Basically, life is good.

I'm working hard, and a lot. Classes are good, but it is hard to keep up with so much work. I'm glad that my classes will be over soon. Then just work work work.

I'm worried about Dad. But I have faith that he will be okay.

And secretly, I'm so happy for Mom. I know that she is sad that Dann has broken up with her, but she can do so much better!

I guess the game plan is to just keep on keepin' on.

Wish me luck.

It's not a secret if you post it on your blog... I am glad your talk went well. Rebecca's right; you're a smart little cookie. Anyway, I am worried about Dad too. It's so hard to see him in so much pain. We just have to have faith that he will be healed. Maybe this experience will be good in the end. PS I think it's terrible you burned a rice dog. Couldn't it have been a rice cat?
