A few weeks ago, Tyler and his cousin Jake decided they wanted to be a little healthier in their lifestyles, so they bet each other that they couldn't go until Easter without eating any desserts or candy. Whoever broke first and ate dessert/candy owed the other one a chocolate cake and $5.
When Tyler told me about his bet, I begged him not to do it. It's no fun eating sweets by yourself, especially when your pregnant belly can't get enough Sweet Tarts and all you want to do is share them. (Number 1 so you don't have to eat them all and number 2 so you can show your husband you love him.)
FINALLY on Saturday, McKenna (bless her) calls us to say that for our combined Sunday dinner, we'll be eating pecan pie for dessert. And Tyler (that stubborn husband of mine) decided that it would finally be worth ending this ridiculous bet so that he could have some of the pecan pie.
So, we made a chocolate cake and presented it to Jake . . . only to find out he had broken the bet three days after it was made (accidentally).
And after a few good laughs, we decided to call it even.
The pecan pie and the chocolate cake were both delicious.
And everyone left happy. (Especially me.)
(Self-portrait taken by Tyler on his iPod. And yes, he IS in our new apartment.)
