Please notice the plurality of that last statement; I have been very blessed to have many mother figures in my life; they have always been willing to lend a hand or give wise counsel. Their constant involvement in my life is probably why I've turned out so well. (Not that I'm trying to brag.)
Honorable mention goes to my very own Mom, who has put up with my shenanigans, and probably managed to enjoy most of them. There is so much good to say about my mom, and I could go on for a while listing all the things she has done for me (like giving birth to me, number one). I never understood how kids in high school could have such a hard time with their mothers--probably because my own mother was so good to me, and she and I have always been very good friends. Despite our friendship, though, she was always my mother first.

Another mother who has played a big role in my life is my Aunt Mar, who stepped into my life at a very crucial time. She too, became a role model that I admire and aspire to be like. I'm so glad that she (and her family) are a part of my life. Aunt Mar is constantly positive, and always trying to make the best of bad situations. Everyone who knows her, loves her--and deservedly so.

Another mother who influenced me tremendously as I grew up was my best friend's mother, Darla Palfreyman. Darla, like my own mom, gave me good advice as I grew up (half in her home, and half in mine). She too, provided an example for me of the kind of woman I want to be. In lots of ways, she has always made me feel like I belong in her home as naturally as her own children do.

A new mother has recently come into my life within the last year or so as well-- my mother-in-law. I know that I have lucked out big time on getting such a wonderful set of in-laws. Jill, especially, has really helped me to feel like I am a part of her family, not just a late-coming addition.

These four women are very different. They like different things, they have different tastes, they are interested in different things, etc.
But at their cores, they are very much the same. All four have good, loving hearts. They all care deeply for their families (which are their number one priority). And I have learned a lot from all four--and probably still have quite a bit left to learn from them.
So to these lovely women, and especially my own mom, I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.
Lots of love to you all!

Very nice tribute to some great ladies.
Thank you Karen for your kind tribute. I am grateful for all those who have loved and nurtured you along the way. Most of all I am grateful Heavenly Father sent you to me. I love you!
Aww. Thanks! I feel a little unworthy to be on such a great list but thankful. Thankful to have you as my niece, to have Tyler as my newest nephew and thankful that you would allow me to share in your life.
