Sometimes, I really miss being in High School Band

Like tonight.

When I was home for Christmas break, I made sure to get all of the band music that I had, and put it into the "Send to Me" box.

And as part of my plan to procrastinate on my huge essay tonight, I imported all the band music I cared about into my iTunes. (Now I'm blogging. I just work better under pressure.)

I think part of why I miss band so much is that I had the best band director EVER--Rob Myers.

Mr. Myers was my mentor in high school. He was a wonderful teacher and friend. He pushed me to become a leader. He never gave up on me as a musician (even when I was ready to call it quits).

This is a picture of me and one of my very best friends from high school, Megan Kilgard, at our last Christmas parade. (When I was home in Texas for Mom's wedding, Megan drove up to Dallas from Austin, just to see me!!)

We had so much fun together!! Ah, band. (Nothing beats band nostalgia.)

I wish somehow you could send this post to Rob Myers. It would be one of the highlights of his life to know one of his students felt this way, especially years later.

Hope you don't a blog stalker! Haha. I'm Jill's friend & thought this was Erin's blog, but now I know it's yours! CUTE BLOG!

Mr. Meyeres looks like Bill Murray. I know exactly what you mean about being part of a great high school band! There's nothing like especially since Mr. Meyer's had such a huge impact on your love for music and staying the course!

Had to laugh at your aversion to school stuff. I do the same thing & noticed my daughter at Georgetown does the same thing!

Lisa, you are welcome to read my blog anytime! I did not make it private on purpose. (Not that I have anything major to contribute to the blogosphere.)

And maybe someday I won't be such a procrastinator. But I'm so good at it.
