Do you have enough Passion in your life?

Chocolate Passion Fruitbowl, that is?

This is not a dessert I make often, probably because it makes so dang much.
But it is SO delicious.
And SO easy.

So when the Smiths invited us over for dinner, not only did I readily accept, I volunteered to make this rich, mouth-watering, chocolatey dessert.

Let me tempt you with pictures:
Sorry about the date stamp. I turned that function on a few weeks ago, and forgot to turn it off. I really don't care for seeing the date in the corner.

The candle was originally for decoration (I thought the dessert was lacking a little umph.) When we got to the Smith's, I thought we could call it a celebration of Carly's last choir concert with/at BYU.

Tyler was excited about the dessert.
(He couldn't stop thinking about it, see?)

I was pretty proud of how nice it turned out.

(Please excuse my Sunday-evening fumpiness. I chose not to nap today, which is probably why I look so tired. Again, you don't have to look.)

The four of us could only get through (a little less than) half of it.
While you're checking out the dessert, don't forget to look at the beautiful lead crystal bowl it's in. (Thank you very much to the Karsevars!)

Anyway, the recipe is simple.

1 8x8 box of brownie mix
1/2 cup oil (for the brownies)
1/4 cup water (for the brownies)
2 eggs (brownies)
2 4 oz. packages of chocolate pudding
3 cups of milk
French Vanilla Cool Whip
Raspberries (or Strawberries. Or whatever fruit you like with chocolate. Or a mix of fruit.)

1. Bake brownies according to the box directions, and let cool.
2. Mix the 2 4 oz. packages of chocolate pudding with 3 cups of milk.
3. Add one cup of French Vanilla Cool Whip to pudding mixture.
4. In large bowl, layer half of the brownies (cut into small squares/cubes) on the bottom.
5. Add a portion of pudding. (Enough to spread in layer over brownies.)
6. Add French Vanilla Cool Whip and spread over pudding.
7. Add a layer of fruit.
8. Add brownies and repeat steps 5-8 until out of ingredients. (I can usually only get in two layers. Perhaps because my bowls are pretty big.)

To add decoration, I added some chocolate sauce (and Tyler added caramel) over the top.

And enjoy!

(Sorry for the long post!)

Didn't the Smith's house burn down? You remember them....the ones who live on Smith Street :)) Elora will be happy to know they have rebuilt!

I don't even eat chocolate but this dessert looks amazing! Next time I have to show up with a dessert, I just may make this one. I will try to find the Karsevars so I can tell them how you like their bowl!
