Feeling a bit of separation anxiety. . .

for two things.

One-- my computer. After much thought, and discussion, and prayer, I decided to go ahead and buy a new computer. With the extra money that the government gave me this semester, I had enough to pay tuition, buy books, and get a new computer. And I'll have over a thousand left over next semester after buying books and paying tuition (again). But next semester, that money is going to be set aside for saving. Or moving.

I have been wanting a new computer for a while. I love this one. It's beautiful and helpful, and mine. But it is slow. I try not to turn it off, because turning it back on is a very long process. It is also pretty big-- which is nice for watching movies or working on papers (can see more of the paper). But with its size comes weight. Last year, I'd have to switch shoulders as I walked to campus, so that it wouldn't hurt so much.

But, part of getting a new computer requires selling the old one. There is no point in my having two computers. (Actually three-- Aunt Mar, I still have the one that you gave to me so many years ago. It's too heavy to ship back to Texas; why I never brought it home over the holidays. . . I can't explain. I have no answer. )

But I LOVE this computer. As much frustration as it has caused me (and pain), I have a soft spot in my hear for it. (Does anyone--other than my sister--do that with inanimate objects??)

However. . . My new computer is going to be AWESOME. I've been wanting one of these for forever. (Since I got this computer, actually--but it was too expensive.) I decided to go ahead and get my dream computer. A thirteen-inch MacBook Pro. It should be coming to me within the week!

The other object causing me some sadness is my left foot black platform flip-flop, which nobly floated away from me in the Provo river today as I rescued Tyler's and my (rented) kayak from a giant boulder. Good-bye my dear, beloved flip-flop. May you have many wonderful adventures. You will be sorely missed. And may you, my right footed flip-flop, find may adventures in your new home-- the dump. You both served me well. And I love you. Good bye, and good luck.

I ended laughing with this one. You are too cute. But I have to say that I'm glad you lost your flipflop rather than my son. Must be a story about that kayak.
And how exciting about the new soon to come computer!!
