The Holidays, Thanksgiving Preparedness Edition

I love the holiday season. It all begins with Halloween--there's just an excitement in the air that lasts until the new year begins.

And I love that in the midst of all the holiday excitement, we have a chance to reflect on the many ways we've been blessed throughout the year. I do love Thanksgiving time.

So in the spirit of Thanksgiving, and in preparing for the upcoming holidays, I want to take some time to reflect on some of the things I'm grateful for.

(Ideally, I'd post every day, but I'm already tardy in getting started. And with how lackadaisical my blogging has been recently, I doubt I will be able to fit in something each day. But I do want to share some of the things I am grateful for.)

I am so grateful for inspiration from a loving Heavenly Father that helps guide our lives. Just looking back over the last year, I can see so many ways in which I have been guided in the decisions that we have had to make as a family.

I have felt the Lord's hand in big ways--like in searching for employment opportunities for Tyler, or finding an apartment for our family after moving out to Oregon.

And I have felt the Lord's hand in little decisions which have turned into huge blessings for me. Like in starting a gratitude journal earlier this year. Or in helping me find hobbies I can enjoy while taking care of two little boys.

I feel like I have also really felt the Lord help me in my parenting: giving me strength when I'm tired and feel like giving up, in deciding how to help my boys, and in helping me get to know and love my boys more and more every day.

Anyway. Before Christmas sweeps in and takes over the holiday cheer, I hope you guys get to take some time and really reflect on the things that you are grateful for, so you too can see how the Lord has been blessing your life this year as well.

(I promise not to be so preachy all the time in future posts.)

And 'cause I know you guys are really just here for the pictures:

(I love my little walking buddies.)
