Heasley Happenings - The Haps, Part 1

It's only been ten days since my last blog post but so so much has happened. At least it really feels that way.

I'll start with the best stuff. (Lots of pictures to come!) And do another blog or two later with other updates.

McKay, McKenna and Grant came to visit us one last time before their big move to Portland! This was so last minute but so awesome. We already miss them terribly.

Check out our adorable teething boys. (McKenna, Rich LOVES graham crackers. And by extension you for introducing them to him.)

The highlight of our trip (for me, at least) was the picnic we decided to go on. The weather out here has been unbelievably beautiful, and it just seems like a shame to stay indoors when it's so easy and comfortable to be out of doors.

Grant eating his baby yogurt, which he loves.

And I love this picture of Grant. It looks like he's in the middle of telling me a story. And who knows, maybe he was!

While we were at our little picnic, Rich got to try cantaloupe for the first time. I think he really liked how sweet the cantaloupe was, as well as the toughness of it (so he could just gnaw on it).

While the big boys played frisbee,

The little boys played in the grass! (Rich's first grass experience. He both loved and hated it. Loved pulling up the grass, hated the texture on his face.)

All the boys together now:

I just love seeing all the boys together. BFFs all around.

And this daddy/son duo is, in my opinion, the BEST.

Saying goodbye was no fun at all.

Doesn't Grant look so sad? (He'll miss his Aunt Karen the most, I'm sure.)

This maybe isn't the best quality picture, but it just feels so symbolic. Rich and Grant's little friendship has quite the distance to overcome.

But never fear! These boys will always return and be buds.

Anyway. We LOVED seeing these guys one last time (for real now). And we had so much fun playing games and going on a picnic. Family is just the best.

And we very much look forward to getting to see the Portland Heasleys soon! (Soon = some point in the hopefully not-too-distant future or at least before we all die.)

This made me sad (and happy!)
Sad for all of you to now be living even further apart. Happy that your two families are so very close in the ways that matter.
Grant and Rich are both darling!
I am excited for the McK's to start their new lives in Portland. Such an exciting time in the life of a young family.
Our first job which took us far, far away to Vermont was the best experience!
Love to you all.

Okay we miss you guys so much. When I first typed that it said we miss your guts so much which is also true... Anyways it almost hasn't set in yet that Logan isn't just two hours away. And sometime in the future better mean August! I'm glad I could give Rich the gift of graham crackers before I left. Tell him Aunt Nenna face loves him. Also I want to frame the best picture of Grant and Rich together for Grants room. If you have any ideas email them to me!
