Gratitude Days 8 and 9

Yikes! I know I intended to post every day, but . . . you know me. Ever the procrastinator.

At any rate, both today and yesterday, I am grateful for similar things.

Neither yesterday or today did we have to go anywhere. And, to be truthful, we often don't have to go anywhere (unless our callings require us to leave). But I really really enjoy these evenings we have to ourselves.

I think that I enjoy them especially because they are such rare times, at least, relatively speaking. We're at a very transitory place in our lives right now. I'm finished with school, Tyler is almost finished, we don't have children, we don't have permanent careers--and because there is such a dearth of responsibilities that we have (again relatively speaking), we are able to have these quiet evenings.

Now, if every night were this quiet, I know I'd get bored--and quick.

But I am grateful for the time that we have together, just the two of us.

(Also, side note: we've been married for 18 months now! That seems like both a very long time, and no time at all. But regardless of time, I'm glad to be married to Tyler--both for time and all eternity. But that's another post for another day.)

18 months, really? Oh my.
But really Karen, as short as the times seems in some ways, in others it feel as though you have been a part of our family forever.

The time certainly has flown by. Adam is working two jobs, I'm full time, and we are both in school. Our time together is so infrequent it has really made us appreciate the few hours we can get here and there. And yet I am grateful we are so busy. We've been together for so long and with the wedding date so tenuous and probably about to get pushed back AGAIN I know it keeps us out of trouble. I am so grateful that even the trials Heavenly Father gives us are really blessings. Hooray for quiet evenings at home!!
