I've seen many notes written to Sleep over the past couple years. Some begging sleep to return, some simply questioning where Sleep went.
My question to Sleep is this, what's the deal, yo? Enough with the practical jokes! I'd like to fall asleep and stay asleep. All night long. (And for me, all night is rarely ever that long. Can't we manage six hours straight of sleeping? Hey, I'll even take five and a half.)
And what's with the bizarre dreams and nightmares? Hunting vampires? Shark attacks? Letters my mom preserved as an example of "Evil"?
Let's compromise. Tonight, I'll go to bed early. Don't worry about the dreams, we can go dreamless tonight. But it would be nice to sleep through the night again. (Like I was doing a couple weeks ago.)
(And to my readers, seriously, that shark attack dream was terrifying. And I've never even seen Jaws! I have no idea where my brain pulled that one out. - Maybe it was a combination of almost drowning that one time and one of my favorite webcomics: Beartato. Note: that link will take you to a guest strip, actually. But some of you might enjoy browsing through the comics. Others will probably think it's a little strange. But Beartato is one of my very favorite webcomics.)
Anyway, one of these days I won't wake up so tired from a less-than-restful night of sleep.

Wow kiddo, I didn't know it was that bad. I was really struggling with that same problem early this year. Super crazy nightmares and the complete inability to sleep through the night. It was making it so hard to stay healthy. Here was my solution: I got a blessing. Seriously, it works! I was promised protection and things have been so much better for me (sleepwise) since. Love you and hope you get feeling better.
Even taking a nap today I had a very bizarre dream with lots of death. It wasn't scary, but it was pretty intense. And maybe I should have been scared, but it was too weird.
I think I will get a blessing. Tyler already offered me one, but I wanted to try changing some of my sleeping habits first.
It's got to be because you haven't seen us for a few days. Come over immediately and we will have so much fun that you will be exhausted and get a great night's rest.
Love,
McKenna and McKay
I think you are too young to need a melatonin supplement but I have had to go on one...I guess it is another gift that came with my 45th birthday.
The blessing will more than likely help you more than melatonin.
I also know that you should NOT get in bed until you are feeling so sleepy that you think you could fall asleep anywhere.
And you should begin shutting down your brain an hour before you want to go to bed. No computer, tv, etc. Just read, relax, etc.
AND stop stressing. This sounds like you are under a great amount of stress, even if you don't think you are, your subconscious is worried about something or many things.
I also need your address again, it was on my phone - the one that was lost - and not everything transferred to the new one. Sorry to ask again!!!
First time I read this I think I had a grandbaby on my lap and couldn't comment. I hope you are sleeping better now? I really struggle with this at times and it's so frustrating. Maybe you need some calcium/magnesium? Then again, I like McKenna's idea.
Hope you keep us posted on this.
