Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

What a trip!

When I began my trip to Texas, I thought, "Oh, I'll just document everything with pictures!"

But as the trip wore on... I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

It started with a blizzardy drive to the airport:
From here, the snow only got worse.

Thankfully, we weren't in white-out conditions, but traffic was awful.

For a while, we were traveling at about 5 mph. The fastest speed we got up to (on the highway) was 35 mph.

I was really grateful that we started out our trip with a prayer. At one point, the traffic ahead of us stopped completely and though we were only going a few miles an hour, Tyler had no control over the car, we slid to a stop... half in our lane and half in the other lane.

But I knew Tyler would get me to the airport safely. See? No worries.

My flight out of Salt Lake was delayed five hours, which caused me to miss my flight from Denver. So, I waited in line at Denver until two a.m. to get re-routed on a new flight to Dallas that left at six in the morning.

Now, I know the Lord was looking out for me, because even though I was all alone in the airport, I managed to make some friends who were headed to Dallas and LDS. I stuck with them, and felt totally safe.

I made it home in time to shower and change for our
Dallas Museum of Art "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" exhibit. Though I was totally exhausted, it was so worth it. SO cool.
I love this picture-- it expresses perfectly how I felt.

Tired, hungry, and a little cranky. But still cute!

That night, I fell asleep around... eight, I think. And then slept until somewhere around nine or ten. I don't remember exactly... but I was super tired.

But oh-so-glad to be home! I knew that my break was going to go by really fast, but I had no idea that it was going to speed by! I wish we had a couple more weeks... or even just a few more days!

I'm sure glad I didn't know about this while it was happening. Ignorance is bliss, as they say. Tyler has always been a good driver. Even before his mission when he was younger, I would have him drive if we were both in the car. Can't wait to hear more about your trip.

You are a lot braver than me. I would have just gone back home. I am glad you made it and had a great time visiting with your family.
PS My brother is married to Jill's sister, Robin, incase you are wondering who I am.
