"Good Monday! Karen, Jay Marks calling. Congratulations, you win the good Monday phone call! You've done nothing to win it other than be super cool and be you. And, I was just thinking about you a few seconds ago, and I was like, 'You know what, I'm gonna fire up her cell phone and let her know that I'm thinking about her.' Hope you're doing great, hope school is wonderful, hope the tests aren't too hard, and the teachers are nice and Tyler treats you like the queen that you are. And, I'm looking forward to seeing you and meeting him this holiday. And, hope you have a great week. You deserve it. And remember, you are a choice daughter of God. Take care."
When I got out of my nine o'clock class this morning, that was the voicemail waiting for me on my phone.
Can I tell you that I needed it? Today has been a pretty rough, and early day. My day started around two-thirty this morning, paused between the hours of six and eight-thirty, resumed for classes-- with so many ups and downs-- from nine until two-thirty, where it paused again until almost six-thirty. Since getting up around seven, I've changed into pajamas, tried to do homework, and tried to make dinner.
So far, nothing has succeeded.
I even started a fire trying to make soup. Soup! (I thought about getting a picture, but decided that putting out the fire was more important.)
My soup dinner is finally almost ready.
I'm almost functional.
But I do want to say thanks to my mom's boyfriend, Jay, for leaving me that message this morning. I needed it. The message has stayed with me throughout the day, despite the crazy day I've had. Even now, I'm still enjoying it.
Thanks, Jay!

Karen, I'm glad you made the right decision and put out the soup fire. Although a picture would have been interesting I'd rather have you safe and sound than a picture of your firey soup. I'm sorry you had a busy day and I hope you get some much needed rest.
Jay, thanks for the kind message you left Karen. You were obviously following a prompting and I appreciate it. I agree 100% with what you said. Karen is totally awesome.
By the way, for anyone else who reads this, chances are, Karen quoted Jay word for word. That's really how he talks. :)
Karen, you seem like a "quote word for word" person. I wish I could have made you dinner tonight! And Jay sounds like a very interesting guy. :)
Seriously - - sooo nice!
Wow, I am impressed, I hope I will have the chance to meet him...I promise to be on my best behavior this time, if I get the chance.
LoVe YoU!
